News on two languages

BPI web - site was the first who published an appeal of Oleg Syusyura, the editor of the Big Radio, when he was searching a partner on the Norwegian side.

We are very pleased that after a short period of time the project which was just an idea became a concrete cooperation.

Now Murmansk radio has a good partner in Northern Norway.

Oleg Syusyura and Kato Torsvik, chairman of the of director’s council of Radio Domen have recently signed a formal cooperation’s agreement.

Big Radio journalists were pleasantly surprised getting know that one can listen their radio in Kirkenes, Vadsø and Vardø.

Murmansk people cannot listen to Radio Domen yet but editors have suggested a number of interesting projects which will provide Russian and Norwegian listeners with an interesting topics . For instance, they intend to make really international the Border Songs Festival.

Blessed by “Barents-papa”

Honorary witnesses, people who have done a lot for  Barents cooperation  were presented under the contract signing. Torvald Stoltenberg was among them.

“Barents-papa” always pays attention for journalist’s cooperation.

In particular in his greetings to the participants of BPI annual meeting in Bodø in April he wrote:

– People who have spent years of their life fighting for the freedom of speech participate in this forum. You know that press freedom is the main weapon of democracy. Many of you have faced such strong opposition which seemed impossible to resist and could follow that one to give up. But you did not. That is why journalists network Barents Press is very important. You are telling the truth about each other, talk about the joys and sorrows, problems and challenges. You have a goal and it means that you are not easily to be stopped. You know that you have a good tusk  and  you are the practical builders of democracy.

The whole text of Stoltenberg greetings is published in Norwegian on BP Norway site.

Torvald Stoltenberg also gave an interview to Big Radio and Radio Domen.
